The audience at last night’s Comedy Store Players show certainly got their money’s worth. Following the improv group’s regular performance, a certain Mr. Jerry Seinfeld (above, left with Neil Mullarkey centre) took to the stage with a standing ovation from the astounded audience – Time Out’s Comedy Editor Ben Williams included. The 57-year-old sitcom star riffed for 30 minutes on classic Seinfeld subjects – marriage, restaurants, gender differences – before bringing on his support act for tomorrow night’s O2 Arena show (and his former housemate), George Wallace (above, right). Slick, laidback and effortlessly funny, Seinfeld proved why he’s the most successful comedian in the world today. It may be roughly 35 times the size of the Store but tomorrow’s arena gig is shaping up to be one of hell of a show indeed.
