Concrete Market showcases local art and crafts in Croydon and supports local post-riot charity Rebuild Reeves
This Sunday (11am-5pm), Concrete Market takes place at The Oval Tavern in East Croydon (the famous film location for Channel 4’s Peep Show), selling handmade and vintage local fashion, craft and art. Founded by Tina Crawford of Tobyboo, the new event showcases wares by the likes of Jennifer Cairns, Claudette Worters, Cup of Sea, Dear Sweet Agatha, Di Does Vintage and The Aviary. Powder Puffs and Pin Curls offers mini vintage makeovers and Fabric Nation holds a tabletop fashion workshop. In addition, historic ‘The Day After The Night Before’ photos of the recent riots in the area taken by Jack Oughton (above) are for sale, with proceeds going to Rebuild Reeves – started up to help the Reeves family following the destruction of their historic presence and business Croydon. A worthy cause for a worthy area.
