Fabulous clothes at tiny little prices, in a shop stuffed with toys that look like owls. What’s not to love? Monki, the sister brand of Swedish label Cheap Monday, is FINALLY opening the doors to its first standalone store. Its bonkers flagships across the globe- think Cyberdog meets Ponyo- leave us expecting great things from Monki’s London outpost. Set over two floors on London’s Carnaby Street, the Monki store will share a double fronted premises with Cheap Monday. That’s where the family resemblance will end though- with separate entrances and entirely separate shop fits for the two brands.
The Monki store will house its entire range of low priced, high fashion aimed at young women (but bought by all sorts of women, if the Time Out office is anything to go by.) To celebrate the opening TODAY (feb 24) – the first 100 customers to get through the doors will get a Monki balloon with a generous voucher attached to it. Kick off is at noon. You’ll have to fight us for them.
