Absinthe cocktails and designer bargains in Kensal Rise
There’s a time (and don’t get us wrong, it is a lovely time) for rummaging through bins of home-knit jumpers in damp east London vintage stores. And then there’s a time for absinthe cocktails and handpicked vintage Diane Von Furstenberg silk dresses, hung from cushioned hangers on well-spaced rails. If you’re feeling disgustingly high end this weekend (March 17/18), head to the Broken Down Doll Boutique. It’s in the leafy confines of Kensal Rise and is around for one weekend only. There’s an absinthe parlour downstairs, with cocktails mixed by the Met Bar’s Ben Reed. And upstairs you can peruse the designer vintage clothing and homeware while sipping your tipple.
