Some may think of themselves as brave as lions for opting to use public transport during the Olympics, but how brave would you be taking on three giant beasts single handedly? Shauna Richardson has created the world’s largest crocheted sculpture – three lions inspired by Richard the Lionheart’s coat of arms and funded by Arts Council England. The fierce felines are made from 36 miles of Swaledale wool, took two years to complete, and make up East Midlands’ contribution to the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad. These lions have recently been prowling around the UK and have finally settled at the Natural History Museum until September 10. Carly-Ann Clements
