Ever looked at a piece of art and thought ‘I could do that’? ‘What’s so damn special about Tracey Emin’s bed?! Surely with some good PR, everybody could be an artist, right?’ Well this talk at the ICA begs to differ. BBC arts editor and former Tate director Will Gompertz will be leading an art lecture with a difference on September 6/7 at 7pm: part talk, part chat show and part improv, Gompertz will guide you through the story of modern art in one hour, with a little help from some of his mates and his new book ‘What Are You Looking At?’. Art cynics will hopefully be enlightened, while art novices should at least leave entertained. Victoria Gray
