From the London A-Z to the Apple logo, graphic design is an integral part of our everyday lives. But where do these images come from? Stories and legends are always born after an iconic image appears in the public eye but Phaidon is planning to put some of those rumours to rest at designjunction this weekend (until sept 23). Over the next four days, the world’s most innovative graphic designs will be on display at the industrial Sorting Office to launch the new publication ‘The Phaidon Archive’ – a collection of 500 of the very best images from the past 500 years. The exhibition is free and you’re bound to pick up a few dinner party conversation topics. Plus, while you’re there stop in to the London Transport Canteen for a refreshment break. Carly-Ann Clements
