A hop, skip and a jump from the (former, sniff) Olympic site in Stratford is the 3 Mills Film Studio. It’s where Wes Anderson made ‘The Fantastic Mr Fox’ and Tim Burton has crafted his kooky-spooky animations, including his latest ‘Frankenweenie’. Now, 3 Mills is opening its doors for a weekend of one-off screenings and workshops. First up is a screening of Plan B’s ‘Ill Manors’ in a prison set from the movie. Tomorrow morning, one of 3 Mills’s puppet makers will be giving a free puppetry workshop after a screening of Burton’s ‘Corpse Bride’. Later, there’s an animation workshop with ‘The Fantastic Mr Fox’. It all gets less kid-friendly after dark, with with screenings of ‘The Arbor’ ‘Berberian Sound Studio’ and more. Cath Clarke
