November, November.  When autumn ends and winter properly sets in. Luckily, it’s also the month of Bonfire Night, moustaches and needing to distract yourself from the cold by eating lots. Our pals LondOntheInside have given us a few pointers to the events they’re most looking forward to this month…

Bone Daddies Ramen
Peter Street, opens 2 Nov
‘There’s no denying it, Ramen is having its day. First up was Tonkotsu which has received rave reviews and now Soho is getting another informal joint which will specialise in steaming Japanese noodle broth. And this is no ordinary ramen bar. It’s Bone Daddies, a rock’n’roll ramen bar. Jammin’ whilst eating your ramen? Bangin’!’

Chilli Standoff
The Oval, Hackney, 17 Nov
‘Things get spicy in Hackney this month at the Chilli Standoff, a one day event which sees some hot chefs take to the pots and pans and compete to be named Tweat Up’s Chilli Champion 2012. Contenders include Gizzi Erskin and Lucky Chip – it’s fair to say the level of chilli will be pretty high and let’s face it you can’t beat a bowl of steaming chilli when it’s cold outside. Tickets cost £40 which includes tasting all 8 chillies, two beers and a Tequila cocktail. Hot, Hot, Hot.’

First Aid Kit
Shepherds Bush Empire, 22 Nov
‘There are two Swedish sisters we’re very excited about seeing this month and we don’t mean those on special order DVD. They make beautiful hypnotic folk music and we’ve played their last single ‘Wolf’ more than any other track so far this year. We’re talking about First Aid Kit. They made Patti Smith cry for god’s sake. Plus they are in one of the London town’s best venues, Shepherds Bush Empire.’

The Tashatorium
Whitleys Shopping Centre, 7 Nov – 10 Nov
‘With Movember kicking off this week we’re looking forward to spotting a whole lot of hairy lipped people sprouting ridiculous/impressive facial hair all in the aid of a good cause. One pop up that has us excited is the Gentlemen’s Pop Up Lounge: The Tashatorium. Not only are we digging the name we’re also loving the sound of the free events in store from consultations and full facial hair restyles to free drinks and live music. Oh, and don’t worry ladies, it’s not all about the gents; there will be stick on facial hair available if you fancy a tash.’

Mark Poynton
Winter Garden, The Landmark, 20 Nov – 8 Dec
‘We’re big fans of this pop-up lark and not just the wacky and weird ones either – we’re all for those which feature chefs from other venues. It means we get to “visit” a restaurant in, say, Cambridge without even having to leave London. That’s exactly what the Mark Poynton pop-up at The Landmark enables diners to do and what’s more he’s even bringing the prices from his Cambridge restaurant with him too. Mark who also happens to hold a Michelin star has created a six-course signature tasting menu for £65, you certainly wouldn’t get that kind of value in a Michelin restaurant in London. Posh nosh at knock down prices? We’re in!’
