In her first glimpse into London’s future, our blogging diviner predicts big things for pizza.
Hello Madame Sonya, what’s in your crystal ball?
‘Lo! Something crystallises from the ether! The astral plane judders with the force of a mystical prediction. It is thus: “A slice is twice as nice.”’
Erm, what are you talking about?
‘After burgers, hot dogs and fried chicken, the next fast-food frenzy will be late-night pizza parlours serving slices to hepcats.’
Where are you getting this? All we can see in that ball is the reflection of your hand.
‘Behold Voodoo Ray’s pizza eatery! Recently opened in Dalston, it serves New York-stylepizza by the slice until the small hours of the morning. You can deny it, but you know that once east London hipsters are at it, the rest of the city will soon be playing catch-up.’
But surely you can already buy single slices of pizza in London?
‘Of course you can! But this isn’t your plastic Leicester Square tourist-trap stuff, this is Brooklyn-style slices served until 3am, washed down with frozen margaritas. And please don’t call me Shirley.’
You don’t need a crystal ball to find Voodoo Ray’s. Simply head to 95 Kingsland High St in Dalston or see facebook.com/VoodooRays.
