Guy Pelly, pal of the princes and nightclub guru to the ‘Made in Chelsea’ set, might have got into a spot of bother with his last venture (Public, which closed thanks to complaints about customers’ rowdy behaviour) but his most recent creation is faring better. Tonteria, on Sloane Square, has already had the Pippa Middleton seal of approval for its kitsch-yet-classy Mexican decor and impressive array of tequilas (delivered by miniature train that chugs its way around the ceiling). Cocktails are served in fake skulls, but they’re well made, and the Mexican snacks are decent. Best of all, you don’t need a title or a trust fund to visit.
