Happy feet… measuring day

Posted at 2:00 pm, January 23, 2013 in Fun London

Apparently January 23 is also known as ‘measure your feet day’. No, we aren’t sure why either. Maybe it’s something to do with it being January and taking things into measure, or a reference to carbon footprints, or the saying that goes ‘walk a mile in someone else’s shoes’. Anyway, it got us thinking about the last time we had our feet measured. Sadly, it is no longer a service that’s widely offered.  These days, we tend to think that if they don’t fall off or make your feet hurt, they’re probably the right size.

In fact, the last time some of us had our feet measured was back in the day when Clarks had those fancy robot foot machines that you stepped in. They were so hi-tech, we were almost more excited about getting our feet measured than going home with a brand new sparkly pair of Magic Steps. Jude Brosnan
