Mizuwari: Japanese whisky bar comes to Old Compton Street

Located below Soho yakitori joint Bincho, this new bar specialises in ‘rare Japanese whiskies’. Less of a rarity than it might seem, the golden spirit has been brewed since 1923 in Japan, and it has a pretty strong following. But how does a dram of the best Japanese whisky measure up to its Scottish counterparts? Euan Ferguson went to find out.
