Space-poor Londoners: prepare to fill your homes with large flat black discs. The Independent Vinyl Market is back for the fourth time in Spitalfields on Saturday July 13, and will give fans the chance to buy music from top-ranking indie labels Angular, ZZK and everyone alphabetically in between. As well as the tactile pleasure of grooves cut into plastic, the market’s vinyl feels good because buying direct helps the little guys making and distributing the big sounds. Some limited-edition records on sale on the day for only £10 – though if you want one, you’ll need to be down there (very) early to beat the 11am opening rush. All-in-all this is a worthy event at which you could also pick up some valuable vinyl on the cheap.
