Still pining after The Secret Garden Party and Glasto? Fear not, for The Pit festival is here! This pop-up boutique festival located just off Mare Street, behind London Fields in E8, is the perfect antidote to your late-summer blues. It features all the charm of a countryside festival with its two stages, bar, street food stalls and even imported trees, and the best news is it’s running until September 24.
The festival features a high top barn roof so you won’t get drenched if the weather goes awry, plus there’s a chic gallery space for your chin-stroking enjoyment. So if you fancy all the fun of the fest without the wellies and wet weather, here’s what you can expect from The Pit this weekend:
Friday 16: It’s a house music ho-down as Lovesick DJs and DJ Dom Chung take to a cowshed for some Friday night frolics. Expect deep house, disco and all-round revelry set to an agricultural backdrop. Free Entry. 5pm to midnight. Fancy dress optional.
Saturday 17: Let cutting-edge party people Love Fever take the wheel of your Saturday night, with their irresistible dance set consisting of disco, deep house, dubbed out techno, leftfield and sleazy sounds. The event runs from 5pm until 4am. Tickets are £5 at the gate.
Sunday 18: The people from hip Bulgarian festival ‘Meadows in the Mountains’ are taking over. DJs will be whipping you out of your Sunday lull with deep funk, house and electro from midday to midnight. Free entry. Bring your stamina. Jessica Zbinden-Webster
