It’s really sad that computer coding is mainly associated with bearded, ponytailed men who spend all day hacking laptops in dark rooms consisting only of wires, tiny flashing lights and empty pizza boxes. Thanks for that, Hollywood. People who can code are the people who hold the keys to the internet, and thus the modern world. And it’s not even hard! Even you, who struggle with Outlook Calendar, can learn to code your own website from scratch in just one day, thanks to Coderwave.

They’re running free workshops to introduce anybody who’s interested to the beginnings of coding in HTML, CSS and Ruby. By the end of the day you’ll have built and uploaded your very own webpage with the step-by-step help of your Coderwave tutor. It won’t even cost you a penny! The next sessions are on November 4-5, so head over to their website to sign up. And don’t worry, not even Zuckerberg can work Outlook Calendar. Ashleigh Arnott
