If you find the meaning of life in a MC5 riff, read on. Hanway Street vinyl record store On the Beat is advertising for a new owner on eBay, with the store and all of its stock for sale as a ‘unique opportunity to live the “High Fidelity” life’. But why? ‘It needs someone younger,’ says Tim Derbyshire, who founded the shop in 1979. ‘But the buyer must be passionate about music, or it will lose its identity.’ Interested Nick Hornby types should email onthebeatrecords@aol.com, or visit ebay.co.uk to place a bid.
