A man. In a park. Throwing a dog. Only the mind of Jon Ronson could come up with such a ludicrous idea and actually get it made into a short film. Oh, and only Jon Ronson could persuade Matthew Perry to star in it.The former Time Out columnist, author of ‘The Men Who Stare at Goats‘ and, now, filmmaker, is currently on a roll: his Michael Fassbender-starring movie about Frank Sidebottom – ‘Frank‘ – has been making waves at SXSW festival, and now ‘The Dog Thrower’ is coming to Sky Arts on May 1.
‘But we can’t wait that long!’ we hear you cry (yep, we hear you non-Sky subscribers too, don’t worry). Well, you’re in luck. The folks at LOCO – the London Comedy Film Festival– are hosting a very special preview screening of ‘The Dog Thrower’ at Bafta this Saturday. It’s part of ‘A Night of Public Shaming with Jon Ronson‘, which features a live talk and Q&A session from the man himself.
And, just to clarify, we are not encouraging you to take up dog throwing yourself. That would be awful.
