It’s baaaaaack (bacon) – the meatiest of food fests, Meatopia. And in its second year, the line-up promises to be even bigger and better, with unique-to-the-event dishes designed by some of the greatest meat masters in the capital. Expect whole roasted beasts, great music (which this year will be themed according to the day – old skool and acoustic jams on the Saturday, with more cutting-edge cool on the Sunday), and a mind-blowing array of carnivorous pleasures.
Pretty much every serious meat purveyor in town (from Dirty Bones to Duck & Waffle, Flat Iron to Foxlow) will be showing off their skills, plus there’ll be good booze, butchery classes, tasting rooms and edible demos. Entry tickets cost £30 per day (dishes cost extra). You might have a coronary afterwards, but heck, what a way to go.
Meatopia 2014, Tobacco Docks, 50 Porters Walk, E1W 2SF. Sep 6 and 7, noon-9pm.
