So you’re an addict. A chilli addict. A ‘chilliholic’, if you like. You could beat yourself up about your capsaicin habit, or you can embrace it and go in search of other spice lovers. And where better to start than Chilli Chilli Bang Bang, a food festival created in honour of the chilli pepper.
Over two days, the fest will combine spicy street food from all over the world with chilli-spiked tequila cocktails and fiery cooking demos from big name chefs (Quo Vadis’ Jeremy Lee, Ceviche’s Martin Morales, and Wahaca’s Thomasina Miers). Not to mention live entertainment, a ‘spice market’, ‘hot sauce deli’, tequila bar and a bunch of DJs at the decks (presumably playing funky remixes of Arrow’s ‘Hot Hot Hot’). Tickets cost £15 and include a ‘festival size’ Jose Cuervo cocktail, a Corona beer, a Margarita, and a bottle of Wahaca hot sauce, plus other goodies and offer vouchers. Tania Ballantine
