House of Peroni, a chilli festival and Iberica tapas: it’s LondOntheinside’s top tip-offs for May

Ibérica Farringdon bar

Oh hi May old pal, what have you got in store for us? Quite a lot by the looks of it. If you need some help choosing what to do, allow our pals LondonOnTheInside to pick the five things they’re most looking forward to this month…

House of Peroni, Lincoln’s Inn Fields, opens 2 May
‘House of Peroni returns, sounding even better than ever before. We’ll be checking out a whole host of the events…but we’re not gonna lie, we’re most looking forward to the brunch – traditional baked eggs cooked with ham, stracchino, spring onions and paprika – and, why the hell not?’

Iberica, Farringdon, opens 5 May
‘One of our fave Spanish joints is opening up in Farringdon. Expect the usual banging tapas, take-away breakfast churros, dangerously good hot chocolate and cava, wines and cocktails in pretty surrounds. Viva Espana baby!’

Chilli Chilli Bang Bang, Dalston Yard, Hartwell Street May 9 & 10
‘If like us you love the spiciest of the spice, then you’ll be at Chilli Bang Bang of course, a celebration of the mighty chilli pepper. This could be the place that kickstarts the summer heatwave. It has everything we love: spicy hot food, cold beers, awesome cocktails and one or two celebs doing demos thrown in for good measure. Just don’t rub your eyes!’

Yard Sale Pizza, Clapton, opens mid-May
‘We’re always happy when a new, decent pizza joint opens up (and does delivery). Yard Sale Pizza will offer five regular combos as well as seasonal specials. Oh hi tuna carpaccio, rocket, wild italian broccoli and mushroom.’

Crocodiles, The Lexington, May 24
‘Our favourite Californian psych-rockers are in town and they maybe spending the first half of the month on tour with Dum Dum Girls. If that wasn’t exciting enough, we’re looking forward to the second half of May with their smaller show at The Lexington. With four albums under their belt they’ve quite the catalogue to draw from so it should be a good one.’
