Attention LEGO fans! Tickets for world-renowned LEGO sculptor Nathan Sawaya’s exhibition have just gone on sale!
Sawaya’s bold, brickish sculptures include a 20ft Tyrannosaurus rex, Leonardo Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, the Venus de Milo and Johannes Vermeer’s Girl with a Pearl Earring. There will be more than 75 sculptures on display made from over a million LEGO bricks, which collectively took 4,188 hours to make. That’s over five straight months of LEGO building. Phew.
It’s the first time these large-scale LEGO sculptures are being shown in the UK so this is a pretty big deal, and it’s taking four shipping containers and 80 custom-made art crates to get them here. So far they’ve been exhibited in Melbourne, LA, NYC, Shanghai and Brussels and have been gawped at by millions of visitors from across the globe including Lady Gaga.
If you get inspired wandering around the exhibition, there’s going to be an area for you to get creative and try your hand at LEGO sculpting. We imagine it’s brickier than you think!
‘The Art of the Brick’ will be at the Old Truman Brewery, Brick Lane on September 26 until January 4, but tickets are on sale now. Click here to book.
