Tomorrow is World Gin Day! A whole delicious day dedicated to glorious juniper booze. Here are our top ten suggestions of how you can really get into the spirit of things…
1. Gin and Jazz at the World Gin Day Party
Where to go on World Gin Day? The World Gin Day Party at the City of London distillery looks like a good place to start. Ticket prices include three G&Ts or gin cocktails, live jazz and charity raffles, and as tonic water apparently has anti-malarial properties (who knew!?) all profits from the event go to Malaria No More UK!
£20 last minute tickets, 7pm-11pm, June 14, designmynight.com, 22-24 Bride Lane, London, EC4Y 8DT.
2. Gin & Tonic Pop-up bar in Hoxton
Go for a classic G&T and choose from over 160 types of gin and a good splash of award-winning tonic. Fever Tree’s Ultimate Gin & Tonic Pop-Up Bar offers £12 gin tours, which include four different samples. £2 of each ticket will be donated to Malaria No More UK. To keep the celebrations going on after the weekend they also have a series of masterclasses going on until July 23.
Free entry, June 12-July 26, fever-tree.com, Hoxton Square.
3. Take a gin road trip with Shake Rattle and Stir
Take a chauffeur driven ride around London for a Gin Journey with Shake Rattle and Stir. You get to sample five premium gins and five gin cocktails (and get a 20% discount with a Time Out Card!)
£50, June 18, shakerattleandstir.co.uk, 6.15pm-11pm, central London.
4. Gin Lane education at the Royal College of Physicians
Take an Intoxicating Walk Down Gin Lane with the Royal College of Physicians. It’s a metaphorical journey down eighteenth-century artist William Hogarth’s ‘Gin Lane’. Visit gin palaces, pubs and temperance hostels and then view the (sobering) exhibition.
£25, June 18, discovermedicallondon.com, 1.30pm-5.30pm, Lincoln’s Inn Field.
5. Cocktail offer at The Portobello Star
Enjoy the Two Tom Collins cocktails for £10 offer at The Portobello Star. Or if you’re feeling flush book into The Ginstitute to learn the history and science of gin, and later create your own bespoke gin. Pricey ticket but you do get two bottles of gin and a cocktail!
Free entry (for cocktail offer), June 12, portobellostarbar.co.uk, 171 Portobello Rd, Notting Hill, W11 2DY.
6. Healthy gin in a glasshouse at Kew Gardens
Learn about the ways that gin can benefit your health (seriously!) and enjoy a refreshing G&T in a secluded glasshouse at The Gin Garden, Kew Gardens.
Entry fee to Kew Gardens, Saturdays and Sundays May 24-September 7, gingarden.com, Royal Botanic Gardens, Surrey, TW9 3AB.
7. Educational gin at the Beefeater Distillery
Learn more about your favourite tipple on a self-guided tour at the Beefeater Distillery and enjoy a nice generous G&T at the end.

8. Gin tasters at 214 Bermondsey
As it’s England’s first World Cup match, 214 bermondsey have created a special World Gin Day sampling to go with their usual gin and cocktail options.
