Plans unveiled for a ‘street food market in the sky’ at new Battersea Power Station development

Another week, another update about the Battersea Power Station. This time, the latest news is that there will be a ‘street food market in the sky’ with 60 vans and stalls on the third floor of the iconic building. Now you have our attention! Rob Tincknell, chief executive of Battersea Power Station Development Company, said: ‘It will be the most amazing food court in London.’ Big talk Rob, big talk.

The market is being touted as a key part of the £8 billion development, alongside 115 other food and drink outlets in the power station itself and 250 across the entire 40-acre ‘village’. They’re currently on the hunt for international and British businesses, retailers, restaurateurs and hotels to fill those many units. We look forward to exploring the initial 40 vendors  when the first stage is completed in late 2016.
