Three parties you need to know about this weekend

Posted at 4:30 pm, September 19, 2014 in Music & Nightlife

Can you smell that? That’s the weekend approaching, faster and furiouser than Vin Diesel ever did. Make sure you’re ready for said weekend when it hits by swotting up on the very finest parties and club nights our wonderful city has to offer. As well as the three corkers below, you can also find more fun over at our Clubs page.

Julio Bashmore

Enigmatic, Chicago-channeling DJ and producer extraordinaire Julio Bashmore plays and curates a rare London show in a rarely used industrial Brixton venue, AIRspace, tucked into a railway arch for maximum rave vibes and with an intimate capacity of 250. As well as JB’s streamlined house grooves, you can enjoy the top tones of some of his pals. You’ll have to wait to find out who, but you can guarantee it’ll be a storming line-up.

Deep Shit

The boys behind the Deep Shit radio show on NTS – Friendly Fires’ Jack Savidge (pictured) and Edwin Congreave of Foals – present the live version, with a lil’ help from various talented DJ pals. Don’t expect any indie anthems from these band members though, this is ‘a place for deep, intense party music’. Disco-loving Danish selector Kasper Bjørke gets into some deep shit tonight, bringing his eclectic dancefloor styles to the party alongside the DS crew.

Soundclash All-Dayer

This all-day party takes place on one of the best terraces in south London, atop Brixton venue The Prince of Wales, and features a host of end-of-summer sounds from a talented cast. Jimpster spins sunny house, Kaidi Tatham provides soul and broken beat and Rinse FM selector Alexander Nut (pictured) relays anything from dub to disco. Make the most of those terrace vibes while you can!
