Open your mind and warm up your vocal chords – The Observer is hosting ‘Observer Ideas‘, a one-day festival of performance and debate at the Barbican on October 12. There’s a great list of speakers including David Simon who created ‘The Wire’, Eurovision winner Conchita Wurst (the bearded lady, you know the one), and Tinie Tempah. Other speakers and performers include New Republic senior editor Evgeny Morozov, campaigner Jack Monroe, controversial internet entrepreneur Kim Dotcom, singer Rokia Traore, and Turner Prize winner Jeremy Deller. It’ll be like the pages of your Sunday copy of The Observer coming to life. Better book those tickets sharpish.
