It’s London Cocktail Week – hell yeah! And, while sitting around a table with friends and/or mojitos is nearly always a good idea, for one week only the cocktail stakes have been raised. In fact, if you’re not downing a quirky cocktail out of a quirky glass at a quirky event during LCW, you’re not really drinking a cocktail at all. Here are some weird and wonderful boozy things to do this week.
It’s a black cab parked up at Camden Lock and it’s there to serve your gin, tequila, rum and non-alcoholic needs. Drinks can be drunk in the back of the cab or at tables around the vehicle if you’re feeling particularly swish.
2. The pedal-powered cocktail shaker
Gawd, all that cocktail-shaking can really wear your arms out. Luckily Hendrick’s Gin is bringing a pedal-powered drink-mixer to its Boneshaker Bar at Brooks B1886 in Seven Dials. They’ll be serving up Boneshaker Radlers Thursday–Sunday.
3. Drink, Eat, Live
On a low-sugar diet but still want to get boozy? Belvedere Vodka’s going to be serving up cold-pressed fruit and veg cocktails in Seven Dials at pop-up bar Drink, Eat, Live. As well as vodka a la kale, there will also be meditation, yoga and hangover SOS classes. The event kicks off on Wednesday.
4. Sonic vodka tasting
Ketel One Vodka is transforming a secret dark room at the London Cocktail Club into its very own tasting studio. The dark room has specially designed lighting and sound effects to heighten the senses during vodka drinking.
5. Tia Maria’s glam night out
If you’d like your cocktail served with a splash of ‘Sex And The City’ camp, head to Tia Maria’s Dark Room at the Dray Walk Gallery on October 10. There’ll be live music from Lottery Winners, manis from WAH Nails and hair makeovers from the Toni & Guy pros.
