Four fun things to do in your lunch hour this week

Posted at 11:15 am, November 25, 2014 in Fun London

With just four days till the weekend, it’s time to make your working week AWESOME.

1. Learn to sew at Sew It Forward

Head to Somerset House between noon and 4pm on Wednesday for a drop-in sewing session. Plus, there’s talks from experts on reclaimed fashion. Tickets are free but limited.

2. Listen to Serial

We’re addicted to Serial, the podcast following a real life story of the murder of a high school student in Baltimore in 1999. It’s already reached five million downloads and is currently the most downloaded podcast in the UK and USA.

3. Learn about the power of objects

UCL’s putting on a lunch hour lecture about the importance of actual physical stuff. Held at the Department of Management Science & Innovation on Thursday, it will discuss the impact of objects on our social lives.

4. Eat the World’s Largest Cake Sculpture

Head to Westfield on Friday to catch a glimpse of the 12 metre x 10 metre edible winter wonderland – and then help the creators break the world record by eating a piece. All in a day’s work, right?
