Christmas countdown: the best festive fun happening in London today

Posted at 10:15 am, December 21, 2014 in Arts & Entertainment

Start by losing yourself in Christmas, literally, at the Vauxhall Christmas Tree Maze (Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens, £4.50), also featuring an ice rink, street-food stalls and a craft market next to a labyrinth of decorated nordmann firs.

Need a drink to calm those frayed nerves? Head to nearby pop-up extravaganza Smörgäsbord at The Paperworks in Elephant & Castle, run by the good folk at Corsica Studios. Grab a hot winter cocktail and load up more street food while you’re at it.

Afterwards, crank Christmas up to 11 at Sink the Pink (Winterville Spiegeltent in Victoria Park, £20). Expect edgy, cabaret from top duo Bourgeois & Maurice, DJs spinning party jams and pure pop – plus bauble innuendos galore.
