We’re only two weeks into 2015, and some of the year’s biggest shows have already been announced. Here’s the cream of this week’s crop of London gig announcements – as ever, head to our weekly Just announced page for even more.
O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire, June 12
Last week this hyped electropop trio placed first in the BBC Sound of 2015’s longlist: a big boost to their profile. See them up close while you still can, as before long they’ll be filling up venues much bigger than this.
Village Underground, April 20
Groovy indie dude White won plenty of praise in 2013 for his album ‘Big Inner’, an intimate LP which sounded like TV On The Radio injected with country, funk and soul. He’s back in London to sing songs from the follow-up, ‘Fresh Blood’. This’ll be a treat.
Wembley Arena, October 11
Renowned for their super-catchy mixture of frantic riffs, pop chops and complex wordplay, the infectious emo-pop superstars from Chicago are back on these shores with a sixth LP, ‘American Beauty/American Psycho’.
Alexandra Palace, May 15 and 16
The pointy-haired rave-punks drop in for two nights at Ally Pally, and you can bet on mass bounce-alongs to ‘Out of Space’ and ‘Breathe’. Friday night’s show has a 3am curfew, so prepare for total mayhem.
