Peckham residents have launched a campaign to stop the construction of a 20-storey building just 200-400 metres in front of Frank’s. Nearly 2,000 people have signed the petition so far.
They write: ‘During the summer many thousands of people flock to Peckham town centre to enjoy the open spaces that have been created on the roofs of iconic buildings by Frank’s Café, Bold Tendencies and the Bussey Building, bringing a new buzz and opportunities for economic activities to the town centre.’
The new follows a campaign from Brixton residents to stop the eviction of the small businesses based under the railway arches.
