GIF shows how many commuters travel into the City of London every day

Yep, it looks like the world is exploding into a million pieces, but it’s actually a pretty mesmerising visualisation of the number of commuters coming in to the City of London every day. Made by blogger Alasdair Rae, the GIF uses the 2011 Census data to show how many people are flocking to the Square Mile for work. As you can see, it’s a fair few. Each dot represents at least 25 people, and as the dots turn into what looks like a burning pit of flames, that’s when the number of commuters reaches its peak. We’re not sure if it’s intentional, but can it really be a coincidence that London’s financial district ends up looking like the doors to hell?
